Karma Yoga

The Path of Selfless Action

At the heart of Kusala Healing lies the practice of Karma Yoga, a discipline rooted in the Hindu tradition that transcends the physical aspects of yoga. It is a path of selfless service, where one’s actions are performed as offerings, free from the desire for personal gain. This altruistic approach to service is what Kusala Healing aspires to embody, providing care that extends beyond the self and contributes to the collective well-being.

Guided by the profound teachings of the Bhagavad-gītā and influenced by the late spiritual teacher Baba Ram Dass, Kusala Healing integrates two fundamental principles into its practice: the relinquishment of the ego as the doer of actions and the release from attachment to the outcomes. These principles encourage a healing process that is pure, unselfish, and deeply connected to the spiritual essence of our work.

Through the services at Kusala Healing, we honor the individual’s journey through their karmic landscape, acknowledging the influences of past decisions on their present life. Our approach is not only to assist in the betterment of one’s karmic path but also to provide insight into how these past actions resonate in their current experiences, encouraging a deeper understanding and mindful growth.

What is Karma Yoga?

The Oxford Dictionary of World Religions defines karma yoga as :

One of the four main types of yoga in Hinduism, leading to union with God. It consists of detachment, not from action as such, but from the fruits of all action, offering them instead as a sacrifice to God. It follows that karma yoga is the opposite to abstention from works: it is the cultivation of the proper attitude to works, especially religious duties.

Simply put, karma yoga is the pursuit of spiritual freedom through dedicated, selfless work, turning everyday actions into a spiritual practice towards liberation.
